It is an initiative born out of compassion, experience and a deep understanding of the struggles faced by underprivileged children and marginalised communities. This foundation is not just about charity — it is about empowerment, education, cultural preservation and creating opportunities for a brighter, more dignified future.
Our mission is simple yet far-reaching — to uplift lives through education, awareness and cultural pride.
We aim to provide access to quality education for children from underprivileged families, especially from nomadic and marginalised communities who often have little or no access to schools and resources. We encourage them to dream bigger, believe in themselves and build a future filled with possibilities.
We believe that true empowerment comes when individuals are given not only knowledge, but also the ability to understand life, respect their roots and move forward with confidence and dignity. Along with academics, we focus on life skills, health awareness, creativity and the importance of culture and heritage.
Our mission also extends to preserving and promoting the rich traditions of the Kalbelia community — its music, dance, storytelling and way of life — ensuring that this priceless heritage continues to inspire generations to come.

The Sayari Sapera Foundation was established by Sayari Sapera with a vision to bring lasting change to the lives of those who need it the most. Having grown up in the Kalbelia community, Sayari witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by many — poverty, lack of education, limited opportunities and the struggle to be seen and heard.
Despite these challenges, she discovered the power of art and education in transforming her own life. From a young girl dancing in the deserts to an internationally acclaimed artist, her journey has been a testament to the strength of dreams, hard work and determination. This inspiring journey became the foundation of her desire to give back.
In 2010, Sayari founded her NGO — the Sayari Sapera Foundation — with the dream of creating a safe space for children to learn, grow and shine. The foundation works in rural and semi-urban areas of Rajasthan, particularly among communities that are often overlooked.
Through the foundation, Sayari and her team provide free education, school supplies, scholarships, nutrition support and awareness programs. We organise workshops in dance, music, storytelling and traditional arts, helping children connect with their roots while also discovering new paths.
We also conduct sessions on health, hygiene, gender equality, environment and life skills — because we believe that education is not just about books, it is about becoming a complete, confident and compassionate human being.
Over the years, hundreds of children have been touched by this initiative. Many who once had no access to schooling are now regular students. Many who once felt invisible are now performers, leaders and changemakers in their own right.
This foundation is Sayari's way of saying thank you to the community that shaped her — and to ensure that no child, from her community or any other, is denied the chance to rise.
The journey is long, but the hope is stronger.
